In an effort to promote the Earned Income Tax Credit as a way to increase financial resources for low to moderate wage-earning people, Somerset County United Way is working in collaboration with the Somerset County Business Partnership to promote the Advance Earned Income Tax Credit through local employers. For those individuals and families eligible to receive the Earned Income Tax Credit, they may claim this credit and receive a portion of those dollars throughout the year (in advance) within their paycheck. This can add up to $1,750 into a person’s annual paycheck per year.

For employers, this is an easy and convenient way to help get more money into the hands of employees and help the local economy.
