Somerset County United Way Women’s Initiative Launches
Women’s Initiative Leadership Giving Circle
BRIDGEWATER (May 7, 2010): On June 10th, 2010, Somerset County United Way Women’s Initiative will launch a new women’s philanthropy group, the Women’s Initiative Leadership Giving Circle at a dinner reception at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ. The Leadership Giving Circle is an outgrowth of the Women’s Initiative, which was created in 2000 to mobilize resources (financial and non-financial) that women can bring to bear on issues impacting women and families in need.
After ten years of successfully raising over $120,000 to subsidize programs that directly benefit women in need, the Women’s Initiative has identified that expansion of the program scope would be beneficial. The Women’s Initiative Leadership Giving Circle was formed to reach beyond the fundraising aspect. This new group will provide women leaders in Somerset County an opportunity to provide financial support as well as actively contribute their talents and skills to identify, create and implement projects that will improve the well-being of women. By working together with a common goal and vision, the long established Somerset County United Way Women’s Initiative, along with the new Women’s Initiative Leadership Giving Circle, will be able to create a legacy that will help future generations of women in our community.
Elizabeth Ziemba, author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Giving Back, will be the keynote speaker at the June 10th dinner reception at Trump National. As a graduate of Ridge High School in Basking Ridge, Ms. Ziemba has a special connection to the area. She is President of SHARED, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving access to medicines for the world’s poorest people. She will share her experiences and provide insight on how you CAN make a difference!
Please join us on June 10th to learn how you can utilize your talents to help others. The reception will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $125.00 per person and may be purchased online at www.scuw.org or by calling (908)253-6505. Remember you CAN make a difference and be part of the solution!
