Community Investment
Help Somerset County United Way by donating your time and talent to decide how donated dollars will be invested in our community to achieve meaningful results. The entire process is 100% volunteer-driven and helps Somerset County United Way maintain accountability by utilizing volunteers to act as stewards of the funds entrusted to us. Volunteers are first trained and then assigned to work in teams to review and assess agencies and programs applying for Somerset County United Way funding. Agencies are evaluated to ensure that they meet Somerset County United Way Standards of Eligibility for fiscal and administrative soundness. Individual programs within agencies are assessed to assure that services are meeting needs, provided effectively and producing measurable results that improve people`s lives. Board Committees

Somerset County United Way has several committees where your individual talents and interests can help make a difference in your community. You do not need to be a Somerset County United Way board member to serve on these committees.

Committees and responsibilities include:

* Finance Committee: oversee financial operations, including reporting and selection of external audit firm.

* Governance Committee: recruiting board members, board self-assessment, board training

* Resource Development & Marketing Committee: assist with developing and improving account relationships and help spread the word and raise the profile of the organization.

* Community Relations and Strategic Planning Committee: C.R.S.P. members assess needs and move forward Somerset County United Way`s strategic plan as it relates to our mission and impact in the community.
