Somerset County, NJ - Thousands of people have been affected by the recent flooding in communities throughout SomersetCounty. Many of these families will likely have a need for long-term assistance to get back on their feet and resume their pre-disaster lives. To respond to those needs, Somerset County United Way has established a Disaster Relief Fund which is designed to assist residents with their intermediate and long-term needs.
Anyone interested in contributing to the Fund is asked to either send a check to Somerset County United Way Disaster Relief Fund, P.O. Box 6835, Bridgewater, NJ08807 or to donate online at www.scuw.org.
Other types of assistance being sought includes donations of diapers, baby care items, Parmalat milk, canned meats and tuna, and cleaning supplies (bleach, cleaning fluids, rubber gloves, buckets, mops, masks, etc.) which are being accepted by the Food Bank Network of Somerset County located at 9E Easy Street in Bound Brook, NJ. Gift cards for grocery stores and local department stores are also encouraged and can be donated to either the Food Bank or Somerset County United Way.
